I am running for The Grants Pass City Council Ward 1
Grants Pass is a wonderful community. The citizens are active, productive and very caring. It has taken decades for concerned people to foster a beautiful place to live and thrive. City government is an important part of the success of this community. It has built and maintained an infrastructure that has enabled businesses to provide goods and services that enhance a desirable quality of life. The primary purpose of government is to provide security for all its citizens. There is a cost for government. The cost must be reasonable. Costs must be constrained within available resources which are intelligently prioritized and applied. The role of any elected official is to represent the citizens and provide quality leadership that can achieve the greatest value at a reasonable cost. Every one is a beneficiary of a successful and fair government.
My most recent experiences as Past-President of the Rogue Valley Symphony, Boys & Girls Club board, Josephine County Sheriffʼs Advisory Council Chair, Chamber of Commerce Board, Chair of the Grants Pass Budget Committee and other activities have provided me with a broad perspective of both the greatness and needs of this community. My past experiences as an Air Force Pilot, Asst. Budget Manager for a large non-profit organization, direct sales instructor and computer scientist have provided me with insights that enable me to help define and thereby understand just what the problems really are. A well described problem can more easily be solved by selecting and implementing the right solution.
Current issues include budget, public safety, infrastructure update, business environment and quality of life of Grants Pass. These concerns can be addressed in a timely and productive manner. I pledge to look for positive solutions and creative, energetic approaches to move Grants Pass forward during these challenging times.
If you would like to help me with campaign expenses, I am grateful you are considering to do this.
